About us

Al-Mubadarah (Arabic for "taking initiative") is a global convener working to facilitate discussions and foster programming, in the Arab World and among its diaspora, to address social and economic development in the Middle East and North Africa ("MENA").

Al-Mubadarah calls on global Arab communities to work in cooperation to create a multi-level and multi-disciplinary approach to development and civic engagement; to engage financial, professional, and personal reinvestment of Arab diaspora into the Arab World; foster youth leadership and build professional networks in and between global Arab communities; and create infrastructure to mobilize the diaspora. Al-Mubadarah works with institutions throughout the Arab world and professional diaspora networks to develop strategies and implement programs with a focus on technical assistance and sector specific knowledge transfer programs.

Al-Mubadarah (dba Arab Empowerment Initiative) is an international NGO headquartered in Washington, DC (501c3 ID 27-2223033).

Youth globally are transforming societies. #MyArabWorld aims to shine a light on the power of youth in being agents of change in their communities. Youth are taking bold constructive steps in addressing their frustrations and creating solutions.

#MyArabWorld is a social campaign to engage and inspire 1 million people globally to make individual public commitments, and take actions, towards social development in the Middle East and North Africa ("MENA"). We acknowledge that there are great initiatives taking place globally and in the MENA region, but information is not pooled, mapped out and easy to visualize. Our vision is to collect stories and activities from people working towards social development, showcasing the rich and passionate work of many.

Join the movement. The social campaign integrates popular social media platforms for easy posting and sharing (facebook, instagram, google+, twitter). It uses hashtag algorithms to generate searches. The current website is a beta site. The campaign will launch in February 2014

Where do we go from here?

In 2014, we are focusing our efforts to 1) engage a larger advisory board and leadership team to support in fundraising and development of the organization; 2) more effectively grow and engage our network and supporters; 3) host programming that engages both the diaspora and peoples living in the Middle East.

We look forward to working with your organization and YOU! To explore partnership and/or sponsorship opportunities, please email hazami@arabempowerment.org
